The food was excellent. I wasn't expecting such good value for money. I've tried food at other places, and in comparison, the value here was amazing. I was being honest. I was initially hesitant to come here because the ambience wasn't really like a fine dining restaurant. It just felt like a regular place. But we finally arrived yesterday to a surprise - the food was amazing. We ordered: - Hummus mixed platter - Chicken kebab side dish - Pita bread - Lentil rice (can't remember exact name) Everything was delicious. The quantity was great, and the taste was pretty good. My wife loved it, and I did too. One note: The chicken kebabs were initially a bit undercooked. I felt they weren't breaking down when I chewed. We requested they cook them more, and they did. After that, it was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place. Come and try their platters - the hummus and everything else is great value for money.
Overview
Walking into Shoufi Mahfi Mediterranean Grill feels like stepping into a neighborhood spot that already knows you. I first stopped by on a busy weekday afternoon, expecting a quick lunch, and ended up staying longer than planned because the staff insisted I try a few different plates before deciding. That kind of confidence usually comes from experience, and it shows in how the kitchen runs and how the menu is built.
The menu leans heavily into classic Mediterranean comfort food, with shawarma, falafel, grilled meats, fresh salads, and warm pita anchoring the lineup. What stood out to me right away was how everything tasted layered rather than heavy. The chicken shawarma, for example, is marinated long enough that the spices come through without overpowering the meat. I watched the grill station during one visit, and the process is simple but precise: steady heat, frequent turning, and resting the meat before slicing. That attention to detail is what keeps the texture juicy instead of dry, something a lot of casual grills miss.
One of the servers mentioned that many recipes are based on family cooking traditions, and that tracks with the flavors. When I ordered the hummus platter, it arrived smooth and balanced, not overly garlicky or oily. According to data from the USDA, dishes built around legumes, olive oil, and lean proteins tend to be lower in saturated fat and higher in fiber, which aligns with why Mediterranean cuisine is often recommended by organizations like the American Heart Association. You can taste that balance here without feeling like youβre eating something watered down or overly health-focused.
Reviews from locals often mention consistency, and after multiple visits, Iβd agree. During one dinner rush, I saw a large takeout order going out while dine-in tables were still being served promptly. That kind of workflow doesnβt happen by accident. It usually means the kitchen has standardized prep methods, portion controls, and timing systems in place. In practical terms, it means your lamb gyro on a Tuesday tastes the same as it did on a Saturday night.
The location at 8379 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32819, United States makes it easy to swing by whether youβre a local or just passing through the area. Parking is straightforward, and the dining room has a casual, no-pressure vibe that works for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. Iβve seen families sharing platters, solo diners scrolling their phones with a plate of falafel, and coworkers splitting wraps during lunch breaks.
Another thing worth noting is how the staff handles questions. When I asked about spice levels and dietary options, the answers were clear and confident. They were upfront about what could be adjusted and what couldnβt, which builds trust. There are plenty of vegetarian-friendly options, and while not everything is gluten-free, the team is honest about cross-contact risks. That transparency matters, especially for people with food sensitivities.
Mediterranean food often gets talked about in broad terms, but places like this show how it works in real life. The World Health Organization has cited Mediterranean-style eating patterns in studies connected to long-term wellness, yet the appeal here isnβt academic. Itβs practical. You leave full, satisfied, and not weighed down. The portions are generous without being wasteful, and the flavors stay with you in a good way.
If thereβs one limitation, itβs that peak hours can mean a short wait, especially for popular items. That said, the turnover is quick, and the staff communicates timing clearly rather than leaving you guessing. Based on repeated visits, solid customer reviews, and firsthand experience with both the food and service, this grill earns its reputation as a dependable Mediterranean diner that locals keep coming back to.

Wow! This place really serves great food! I had the mixed/chicken shawarma and falafel. My co workers had something similar and everything came out hot and tasty. I definitely recommend this place.
The food here was delicious fresh, hot, and made just right. The staff at the front were wonderful, super friendly, and welcoming. They even gave me the option to pay later, which really shows they value their customers. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted amazing. Definitely saving this spot to come back again. Thank you
The food is amazing! I ordered the chicken shawarma dinner with 2 sides ( baba ganoush and tabouli) I also got the side of beef kofta. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection it was absolutely delicious. I don't even care that I didn't get the 20% discount for the code. It was worth every cent. Also my delivery was pretty fast for dinner hour. I would have put a photo but I already ate half of it. The portions are huge so there is definitely enough for another meal left.
The food is authentic. The hummus and falafels were delicious. We had a gyro, chicken Shawarma and beef Shawarma. All were uniquely different. The lentils soup just needed a bit of salt. The portions are small for the prices but with inflation, it's understandable.
